Interviews in a crowded pub are extremely difficult, however, alcohol seems to provide subjects with an interesting take on politics. Many of the people in the pub, surprisingly enough, were neither American nor British. There were groups of French and Australian people intently watching the big projector screen, equally nervous. Almost all of the people in the pub where Obama supporters, though one attendee claimed that "If Obama wins, it will be the death of Israel." When asked to elaborate, not much succeeded but mumbles and slurs.

It was interesting to view British coverage on the event, hearing phrases like "This is a nation of fast food and low attention spans" that probably weren't being broadcast in America. A lot of the opinions seemed less bias in a sense, however, many were quite the opposite.

The experience was much like that of a rock concert. It could also be compared to Princess Diana's funeral here, in that you could compare that too to a rock concert. Some people are there because they deeply care about the event, but many are there simply because it's the place to be; it's a spectacle, or an attraction.

Either way, slowly drifting to sleep at 4am, trying to hold out for the results, I had a most unique election experience, an outsider's prospective on an insider issue.
